About This Fellowship
The Anzisha Venture Building Fellowship is a multi-year entrepreneurship programme designed for some of Africa's youngest business founders. Rather than supporting applicants who are still developing an idea, the fellowship is intended for young entrepreneurs who have already started a business or project and are actively working to build it.
The programme focuses on helping young founders move from operating an early-stage venture to building a stronger, more sustainable organisation capable of creating jobs and generating lasting value. Anzisha combines structured learning with practical application, so fellows are expected to apply what they learn directly to the businesses or projects they are running.
The fellowship uses a venture-building approach rather than a conventional academic fellowship. Participants work on real business challenges while receiving personalised coaching, practical learning opportunities and financial support linked to progress in their ventures.
A major component is structured digital learning. Fellows can work through practical entrepreneurship courses and resources while applying the lessons to areas such as business operations, financial management, growth and leadership. Coaching provides additional guidance as entrepreneurs work through challenges within their individual ventures.
The programme also includes experiential learning. Fellows can gain exposure to experienced entrepreneurs and observe how established businesses approach decision-making, operations and leadership. This gives participants an opportunity to connect entrepreneurship concepts with the realities of running and growing a venture.
Anzisha also places emphasis on financial readiness. Fellows receive support aimed at helping them strengthen financial systems and develop materials that can make their ventures more prepared for future funding, partnerships and investment.
The fellowship is therefore particularly relevant to young African entrepreneurs who already have evidence that their venture is operating and who are prepared to commit substantial time to developing it further.
