About This Scholarship
π University of New England Scholarships β Spring 2027
The University of New England (UNE) provides several forms of scholarship and grant assistance to help students meet the cost of university education. Its funding opportunities include merit scholarships, institutional grants, endowed and annual fund scholarships, and external scholarship opportunities maintained through the university's Student Financial Services office.
UNE's undergraduate merit scholarship programme is particularly significant for incoming students. The university states that all incoming full-time undergraduate students are considered for a Merit Scholarship of up to $28,000 per year. These awards are based on academic achievement before enrollment and do not require a separate scholarship application once the student has applied for undergraduate admission.
For continuing students, UNE also provides other institutional and donor-funded awards. The requirements vary because individual scholarships may be based on academic achievement, financial need, family connection to UNE, programme of study or other criteria established by the donor.
Students should therefore distinguish between UNE-funded scholarships and grants and scholarships offered by outside organisations that happen to be listed in UNE's scholarship database. The application procedure, eligibility requirements and deadlines can be different for each category.
Merit Scholarships
UNE offers merit scholarships to incoming full-time undergraduate students based on their academic achievement before enrollment.
For incoming first-year students, the currently published merit scholarship range is:
$13,000β$28,000 per year
The award can be renewed for up to four years of undergraduate study provided the student remains enrolled full time in eligible coursework and maintains the required cumulative GPA.
UNE states that students who apply for undergraduate admission do not need to submit a separate application for the merit scholarship. The Admissions Office determines the merit award as part of the admission process.
Other UNE Scholarship and Grant Opportunities
In addition to merit scholarships, UNE lists several other forms of financial assistance, including:
- Institutional grants
- Endowed scholarships
- Annual fund scholarships
- Sibling grants
- Legacy grants
- Programme-specific scholarships
- Need-based assistance
- External scholarship opportunities
The criteria for these awards are not identical. Some donor-funded scholarships consider academic achievement and financial need, while others have specific conditions established by the scholarship sponsor.
