About This Fellowship
The IAEA Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) is a postgraduate scholarship initiative established by the International Atomic Energy Agency to encourage more women to pursue Master's-level education and professional careers in nuclear science and technology.
The programme focuses on the development of a new generation of women professionals in nuclear-related fields. It supports students who want to acquire specialised knowledge that can contribute to the peaceful uses of nuclear science in areas such as healthcare, energy, agriculture, environmental protection, industry and scientific research.
Selected students undertake Master's study at an accredited university in a nuclear-related field. In addition to the academic component, the programme can provide an opportunity for an internship related to the student's area of specialisation, facilitated by the IAEA.
The programme therefore combines postgraduate education with practical and professional exposure to the nuclear sector.
Who Can Apply
The programme is specifically intended for female students from IAEA Member States.
Applicants must generally:
- Be female.
- Be a citizen of an IAEA Member State.
- Have been accepted into or be enrolled in an accredited Master's programme in a nuclear-related field.
- Have an academic background appropriate for the proposed Master's programme.
- Demonstrate strong academic performance.
- Intend to pursue a career connected with nuclear science, technology or a related peaceful application.
The IAEA has previously indicated preference for applicants with above-average academic credentials, such as at least 75% or a GPA above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must also satisfy the admission requirements of their chosen university.
Specific requirements should always be checked against the application call for the relevant year.
