About This Course and Training
The 100x Impact Accelerator is designed for high-impact social ventures that have already developed and tested a solution and are now looking for a credible pathway to reach a much larger population. The programme is operated by 100x Impact at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Rather than focusing primarily on starting a new business, the accelerator works with organisations that have evidence that their existing model works and are approaching a stage where changes in strategy, financing, partnerships, leadership or delivery could substantially increase their impact.
The 2027/28 cohort is open to both for-profit and non-profit ventures worldwide. Areas of interest include health, education, climate and environmental challenges, financial inclusion, democracy and other major social or environmental problems.
What Selected Ventures Receive
Selected ventures receive £150,000 in catalytic funding. The funding is intended to strengthen the organisation's pathway to scale and can be deployed according to the priorities that are most likely to unlock greater impact.
Participants also receive a 16-week accelerator programme covering areas such as:
- Scaling strategy and the different pathways a venture can use to expand its impact
- Impact measurement and the use of evidence to guide decisions
- Leadership development and organisational strengthening
- Strategic thinking around funding and long-term sustainability
- Access to LSE research expertise and social-science knowledge
- Connections with advisers, funders, potential partners and other venture leaders
The accelerator is the beginning of a longer-term relationship with 100x rather than a standalone short course. Selected ventures may also be considered for additional catalytic funding after the programme, depending on fit, progress and available funding.
Who Can Apply
The programme is intended for established social ventures rather than individuals applying with only an idea.
Applicants should have a clearly defined social or environmental problem, a distinctive solution and evidence that the solution is producing meaningful results. 100x looks for organisations that can demonstrate adoption, validated outcomes, operational capability and a realistic route towards much greater scale.
Both non-profit and for-profit organisations can apply, and applications are accepted from ventures worldwide.
100x places particular emphasis on organisations operating in or serving emerging markets and aims for approximately 70% of its portfolio to come from emerging markets.
What 100x Looks For
Applications are assessed across several areas rather than simply on the novelty of the idea.
The problem should be significant, clearly evidenced and connected to an opportunity for system-level change. The proposed solution should offer a meaningful advantage in areas such as cost, quality, accessibility or reach.
